"Network Marketing" need some advice…?
I have applied to a job with company "X" reading in their ABOUT US web page, I can see that it is a Network Marketing company that sell foreign products.. Apparently all over the world.. My question is the position applied for is of "Marketing Support Administrator" does that mean I will be going door to door trying to sell the stuff?? or working in the office trying to make people want to go door to door selling the stuff??? There was little on the actual job description so I would like to go the interview prepared (as I want to work in an office)!!!
Thanks so much for your help.

Proceed very carefully, I have been burned by a couple of "Network Marketing" jobs that were advertised. They some times advertise Administrative type jobs to rope people in for an "interview". Then you go to the "interview" meeting and find that there is a group of people all there. They tell you all about the product(s) the company sells and the schematic about how you make money. (Which is to get other people to come in and see under you so you get commissions on what they sell as well as your own) I got really ticked off because I was led to believe it was an office type job to support those who will be selling and ended up trapped in a hotel meeting room listening to the sales pitch for 2 hours before I could get out of there.

There are regular office jobs in network marketing companies just like traditional companies, so call and ask them before you show up for the interview and express your concerns.
Honesty is the best policy.
…Then he got the invites to the commission only sales positions; this led to a few group interviews in the DC area but only amounted to a lot of driving and sales pitches by less than desirable companies…. A dog chasing his tail for nine months – that was me for sure….

Network Marketing companies sell products and allow you to make a commission on people enrolled in your downline. If you have a desire to be a business owner than this may be right for you. Owning a business requires more than that of an employee. If you are just wanting a job, where you get paid a salary than network marketing probably is not what you want.
